Cohort Sistas

Cohort Sistas provides digital resources, mentorship, and community to improve equity in doctoral education. While their programs and platforms (including a Podcast) are open to all doctoral students, applicants, and degree holders, they prioritize and center the needs and perspectives of Black Women and Non-Binary scholars.

 

Black Women PhDs

Black Women PhDs is a virtual community that was created to celebrate the accomplishments of Black Women with PhDs.

Doctoral Mom is a support group providing resources and scholarships for mothers who are currently in doctoral programs.

Edlinguist Solutions provides support to graduate students to finish their doctoral degrees.

A research conference and holistic wellness retreat for women of the African diaspora in STEM.

 

Dr. Korie Grayson

Dr. Korie Grayson is a biomedical engineering researcher, STEM advocate for Black Women and WOC, and science communicator who is redefining what an engineer looks like in STEM.

The Polished Pen is an independent editing agency serving graduate students virtually through their services.

 

How to Ph.D.

Arun & Julia passed their PhDs in 2020, in the middle of a pandemic of all times! Now both are Research Fellows at Coventry University and the University of Warwick respectively.  They have created the How-To-PhD podcast and 1:1 sessions to help with a variety of support related to masters and Ph.D. students.

 

HBCU-DAP

HBCU-DAP was created July 2019 by two HBCU alumni to prepare and support HBCU students for the graduate school application process and transition into a research-intensive doctoral program. Their mission is to provide RESOURCES, MENTORSHIP, and SUPPORT for HBCU students on their Journey to Doctorate.

 

D.I. Grantase

D.I.Grantase is a donation-based crowdfunding platform born out of the determination to help alleviate the inequities that exist in the traditional research funding mechanisms.
